Lightweight linux distro
« on: August 14, 2012, 05:51:32 pm »

I've got an older Athelon64 pc I built in 2005 that's been starting to slow down a good deal. SInce it's only used for internet and pictures anymore, I figured I'd grab a lightweight version of Linux on it to boost performance over XP. As a total Linux rookie (I really dislike Open Source software in general), I don't have any idea what would have the features I need.

It has integrated gigabit network (have to check the brand), a late-model Nvidia AGP card, and a Kodak printer. Drivers for those are critical.

Man, ninja'd by a potentially inebriated Lord Shonus. I was gonna say to burn it.

I'm no linux whizzkid either, but I did play with a lightweight distro once.
Puppy Linux
It's easy to install, and is crazy fast - runs entirely in RAM.
