Fort construction .gif
« on: July 02, 2012, 11:22:00 am »

Got the idea to compile all the stonesense snapshots I had of my fort during construction. Still a work in progress. Too bad I don't have shots from the very beginning.

The trees are getting closer to your fortress. You are under siege.

I would love to see seasonal screenshots like this for a lifetime of a fortress. Imagine the changes that would happen...

That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

My first thought to that was, "Must be Malcolm and Macduff."

So here I am, logging into the Bay12 Forums.  I'm not sure whether to feel happy about this, or sullenly admit the loss of what little remained of my soul after all of this Fun.  So much Fun.  So, so much Fun.  <shudders>
First things first.  You're all soulless husks of what might have once been decent human beings, drafted into a sort of moral apartheid from your better natures in the pursuit of things made out of cute animals.  I love it.

how did you get stonesense to show that many z-levels? Whenever I try to change any settings, I wind up making it crash.

That looks pretty nice.  I notice fortresses displayed with Stonesense tend to have a lot more useless construction that is just there for looks.  I wonder if Stonesense encourages form over function, or if it's the other way around and the artistic players are more likely to pick up Stonesense.

Even more likely - posted images are pictures of things designed to look nice.

Could just be that people are encouraged to make  fancy things as they know theyll be able to appreciate it better.

What I'd really like to see is a graph of population vs. time.

This reminds me of the Lego instruction manuals, in a good nostalgic way.
