I talked to webadict, and it looks like his free time is and will continue to be sparse...  so I will continue to Be The Guy and carry the torch for the Xmas giveaway tradition.

I feel like the basic framework of the Xmas giveaway is solid, considering the timing and sheer volume of it.  However, I would like generalized constructive input re: past giveaways, Xmas or not, on what y'all thought worked well and what could be improved.  I want to get a list of known formats and best practices put together, to make life easier for myself and anyone else inclined to have a giveaway.

I'd also like to hear thoughts on a Secret Santa type thing.  Finding something equitable may be difficult or impossible, between varying incomes (or lack thereof), currency differentials, etc...  but I'd like to at least talk about it, and try to hammer something out.

Everything went smoothly last year so there's no reason to change anything.

Also, it's July.  Nobody will remember this thread in five months.

No one else needs to remember in 5 months...  I floated the inquiry now, because I wanted to get input early enough to possibly use it for getting ready.  (Planner's gonna plan, essentially)  It's also difficult to have a discussion about structure when the giveaway is running, and lots of folks are busy with holiday things and exams.
