Food stocks

I have 133 plump helmets in Stocks, but the plain old (z) only shows 7. None of them are forbidden...is this just the barrel-movement problem everyone's been having?

where do you see the 133 and what is the accuracy setting for your bookkeeper?

Has the dwarven caravan come by recently?  The extra plump helmets might be ones owned by the traders.  If they were killed, there might be forbidden ones left on the bodies.

The stocks screen doesn't care if the items are reserved, eg. by being inside a barrel that's being hauled.

Also, what do you mean with (z) screen? The number for plants in the status window?

One possibility that came to mind is how does the game treat mature but unpicked farmed plants?
