I am currently using the masterwork mod, by the way, if anyone has any questions regarding the content in this thread.


In my current fortress, a centauress broke through my traps and war dogs, and started killing my dwarves. Three of them, including two of my best miners, my only other miner is in the hospital without supplies, but more on that later.

I currently made a squad of woodcutters, anything that might have access to a tool, and told them to kick that bitch's ass. Now, they are. With their fucking hands.

I have seven dwarves kicking the SHIT out of he centauress, every time she gets up, they knock her right back down. She is missing all of her teeth, covered in bruises and broke a ton of bones, but SHE IS STILL ALIVE.

How do I kill her? She still manages to knock one of my military dwarves into a wall every once in a while when she stands up, so she is clearly a threat.]

Also, if anyone has any advice on how to get my hospital stocked, it would be nice. (I need cloth and string, and containers, and I cannot figure out how to get the first two, and place the container.)

I've never touched masterwork before, but I assume poking it with sharp pointy sticks will work.

Give one of the dorfs a pick to haul around, and he'll stab her brain in. Fists of dwarven fury can only do so much.

I have no idea how to make them pick it up.

There are a pile of picks and warhammers sitting at the smithy, and nobody will pick them up and use them or take them to stockpile...

If they're already in the fight, they're not going to stop for anything.

Make them go off duty, then back duty again.

They have to be ordered to use picks, but only dwarves with a preference towards hammer will use them unless issued otherwise. Uniforms help with this. But yeah, you'll need them to deactivate and bolt to get them armed.

Placing the container is b>h, then the dorfs will automatically stop the hospital.

The best thing to do is order them else where, and then order them back in. The reason for the fists is that military service conflicts with mining, woodcutting and hunting.

It's a uniform conflict. They won't carry the axe they use for woodcutting when on active duty as an axedwarf.

Ah, thanks a bunch. I called over my copper golem and some war dogs and they finished the beast off quick...

I now have a problem, several minutes later after an imp and spider siege... Where do I get healing supplies? My dorfs are going to drop like flies, since the only thing I have for them is some river water to clean the wounds.

I need cloth and string, those are the biggest two on my priority. I can't trade for it quickly enough, and I don't have seeds to grow it...

Or go into the caverns and snag some silk. Thread can also be obtained from animal hide HAIR, GEEZ, but not made into cloth. Going into the caverns at a time like this sounds like tempting fate, though.

Just shear the animal and weave it into yarn, from there, keep it as thread (yarn) or weave it into cloth.

Scrounging for rope weeds now...

What animals can produce hair that can be made into thread? All I have are horses and dogs.

Unless you buture for thier hair to make sutures, those won't work. Shearbales that can be used for wool cloth and sutures are sheep, Llamas and Alpacas
