Flood caverns...with the magma sea?
« on: June 30, 2012, 09:40:33 am »

Can this happen? I have a up/down stairs shaft until the molten rock in one corner of the map (it only touched a cavern once, and I walled off the access...although flying thingies can get in. Mmh, need to work on that).

Right next to the bottom piece of the shaft there is a warm stone. So if I breach it, magma may pour in. However...I was thinking, given the pressure (this is the absolute bottom) and the fact that magma sea is endless, is it not likely to rise up? How much? Enough to flood stuff?

Check the pressure article at the wiki, but I don't think magma has pressure, so only the level(s) with the breach(es) and below will fill.

My current fort has the bottom level of cavern 3 just above the magma sea as well :P

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

And then everyone melted.
