I guess the simplest way to mod would be graphical changes, but you'd have to be really careful with which characters you change

I'd just love to see the game more mod friendly.

Like have important stats and game balance stuff all in a .dat or txt file or something.

Find food production too easy? tweek it.  Don't  like how immigration works? Tweek it.  Don't like the starting options? Yeah you guessed it, tweek it!
