So, my room mate adopted a new kitty this weekend past. Her other two had died of old age (unhappy thoughts for us both!) a few months back. 

The kitty has adopted me instead.  Carly is slowly warming up to my room mate, and I feel a bit guilty for Carly deciding I'm the human.  If any cat people have had experience with this sort of thing, advice is welcome.

Carly is really cute--calico--and sweet.  She just isn't so sure of my room mate, the one who actually adopter her and paid the fee and so so on.

I wonder if cats don't try to seduce people who are indifferent about them, because they know you're not under their power yet. There is no need to care for the other servant who's already in love with you, since he already provides you food and attention. Let's use our time to enslave another one instead.

But then again, I believe cats are inherently evil. They are evil masterminds in disguise, and the only reason why they don't conquer the world yet is because they are content with a life of laziness and a few servants !

Cats are sorta assholes. But like any critter they can be trained. Simply ignore it. Don't let it sleep or rest on you. Eventually it will go to your room mate. Once your room mate has a strong enough bond you should be able to pet it and stuff again.

Make sure your roommate does all the feeding, that's the important part.

You can't play with a cat if it doesn't want to play with you. Always keep that in mind.

Also, having another cat will make things easier if the cat is being a maniac. I had 3 kittens once and they usually disappeared in the house playing hide&seek or something. Then I had just one cat once and he was a complete sociopath. Cats can be weird sometimes.

They are percieved as cold but it's because of their body language. Dogs' body language is easier to read and suits better to humans. I had a dog too.

I like both cats and dogs. Cats (usually) won't attack humans but dogs will. Cats won't protect humans but dogs will. Both have cons and pros. I got surrounded by 5 dogs once. A dog followed me and chased other dogs that got close to me for 2 hours just because I gave him some biscuits. Sometimes animals are better than humans as friends.
