Dwarves going Rampage even with a normal mood

Hi,

I know that dwarves can go berserk if they're unhappy or have a fey mood but have you ever seen one of your military dwarf attacking his mate without a reason?
It all began when the elven merchants came.
I decided, because I have never done this befor, to kill them all just for fun.

My guys chased them to the edge of the map and finally killed them but then suddenly... my axedwarf killed my wrestler.
I looked at the axedwarf and he was content.
I just disbanded the whole squad because then suddenly they all started to attack each other. o0

"Finally I solved this problem" was my first thought.
WRONG!

Then I got spammed by "Urist interrupted doing dwarvy things by UristMcPeasant".
They were interrupting each other the whole time and they didn't even attacked each other. o0

Maybe loosing is fun and to be honest I laughed a bit when my military went rampage but I now it's getting annoying.
Everytime I try to form a new sqaud they go and randomly attack my dwarves. :(

Would be nice if you could explain me why they're getting so mad (they're all content, happy or ecstatic) and how I can solve this problem without using magma.

it almost sounds like they accidentally killed a liaison or something, or one of the bugged migrants. No clue at all.


also, next time, close the gate before killing merchants. It's a shame to let them escape.

I think I should punish my dwarves... I'm creating a new squad with different dwarves (omg, they aren't killing everything they see :D) and start "cleaning" my fortress.

Sounds like a loyalty cascade. You sure those were Elves?

Definitely sounds like a loyalty cascade.

It might have been dwarven liaison with elf guards, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

Sorry, got to disappoint you.

It were elves.
I removed their corpses, looted their clothes and cleaned their blood.

Only elves with their stinky horses.

Anyway, it seems the problem has been solved but it would be still nice if I could know what happened?
My hammerer just killed two of my squad members and those attacks stopped.

The strang thing is that they weren't even marked as criminals. :P

Any mods? Because if it were a loyalty cascade, your hammerer would've gone onto kill other Dwarves.

Nope, no mods.

And if it's really a loyalty cascade then it's kinda strange that he didn't do anything after I killed again an elven caravan.
