Does DF Make Registry Entries?
« on: July 17, 2012, 04:03:50 pm »

I have a laptop from work I would like to play DF on (not while on the clock, of course) but I wanted to play it from a flash drive.  I use DF with DFHack, a tileset and Dwarf Therapist.  Would running these from a flash drive cause any registry entries, logs, etc?

I have one entry that seems to be from the program and some that are from the shortcuts I made.
You could just search and delete the entrys in regedit if you don't want to leave traces (you're probably gonna need admin rights to do that).

I can't find any registry entries for dwarf fortress on my machine (win7) if that helps at all.

Registry entries -- unlikely as DF, or at least the base game, has no need for those AFAIK.
System log -- Not exactly sure, but probably inevitable, especially if DF happens to crash, which means crashlog.
Security softwares -- DF would have to be in the exemption list and log of those that limits program execution from removable media, if any, to run.
