They're all pretty generous and friendly.  Just that most of them heard somewhere that dwarves like being killed.

It is a unimplemented feature, kind titans. There was a thread a bit back about frosty the snow rex. Right now, they still want to kill you, but get to do so and be beloved because of it.

Benevolent Titans, should they come to be, would be a nice feature.

This is a side-effect of dwarven animal training (hit animal with hammer until it forgets that it hates you, then lovingly cuddle it).

I'm not your average Bay12er. I care about my drunken midgets.

Maybe they could do something like walk to your meeting area, drop off an artifact candy cane, and wander away.  Think of people's reactions- "Uhhh.... thanks!"

Or better yet, they see themselves as guardians of the area, and attack you if you attack animals. BUT, If you appease it, it turns its killing talents towards invaders.

Unfortunately benevolent syndromes are still very malevolent.

Bah.  Cross train and then danger room up your most promising dwarf into a superpowered military legend, outfit him in masterwork steel or candy, then give him a complex, intimidating yet silly name like Ballcrusher the Agony of Rainbows.  Make him patrol outside.  Close enough.

Having friendly Titans would be a cool feature.  They could be called with a war horn when your fortress is under siege.  Your Adventurer could ride on their shoulders around their domain (image a Treebeard moment in Adventure mode) or around the world (over oceans if they were tall enough).  Anyway, it'd be neat.
