Hey, I've just gotten into this game and it's amazing. Expect a donation from me soon :)

Disclaimer: I've scanned the development log and done a forum search but couldn't find this anywhere.

My suggestion is to do with burrows and alerts. At the moment, when you use an alert to restrict civilians to a burrow during a siege, all animals are also restricted. As far as I can ascertain, this includes war animals that are assigned to military dwarves. I don't think this should be the case.

I'm happy for unassigned war animals to count as civilians because then they act as a sort of last-resort guard but the assigned war animals should go out and fight with their owners.

ummm... This sounds like something that would be a bug report, not a suggestion, since war animals being kept out of combat seems pretty buggish.

Personally, I like [DF] because after climbing the damned learning cliff, I'm too elitist to consider not liking it.

^^^ Yeah, there's a report for it.   In my opinion it definitely counts as a bug.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Shameless bump, not sure if this is a bug or simply feature that hasnt been implemented...

Please remove burrow restrictions from War Animals, similar to military units. I understand this could cause issues with war animals randomly wandering into seiges outside, so maybe it even deserves a second 'burrow' that would apply only to war trained animals. (so if we really wanted to turtle, we could keep them in burrows, if it we wanted them to venture out with our military dwarfs we could leave it off)

Thanks!

You can keep them in pastures. No need for special burrows.

I just put all of my war animals in a pasture placed strategically at the end of my Hallway of Horror.

IIRC the OP's suggestion was specifically about war animals assigned to follow a specific military dwarf (and thus probably not appropriate to assign to a pasture as that would defeat the purpose of assigning them to the dwarf.
