Make my keyboard better
« on: June 21, 2012, 12:22:25 am »

So it's kind of a really long story, and I kind of really don't feel like telling it, but I want to make it so if I hit the keys control and 0 (the number, not the letter) on my keyboard at the same time, it acts as if I had hit the page up key. How would I do this? I'm using Windows 7, if that matters.

Well, you could remap your keyboard, but there's a really easy way to do it another way: just hit the page up key. I can't remember if it's a default feature, but my page up key goes up a level in directories while browsing folders. If that's what you're trying to do, that can be done with an alt-↑.

It would seem that for my purposes, alt+up does not work. It needs to NOT use the arrow keys for it to work for what I want.

What do you want it for?

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

I find that almost all modern keyboards are sorta craptastic and break easy.  This is likely the problem.

After I broke my last plastic keyboard I started using a 1lb monstrosity of a keyboard that has nicotine stains and which my bro got by fishing it out of a dumpster at the warehouse he was working at in highschool.  This thing is over 10 years old, I slapped it into a USB adapter and it works like a dream.

My only complaint is it has one of those stupid split backspace/space keys.  Who thought those were a good idea anyway?

If not under Neotemplar look for Vellum.
