Well...  I changed scales and chitin to [SHELL] adding them to the file, but it doesn't seem to work, I told someone to make something from shell ,and it still says "No shell"

Ask not what the Dwarfs can do for you...
But ask.... why are they drunk all the time?

1: it needs to be changed in the save raws, which need to be uncompressed for that

2: as mentioned in the post where this was suggested, adding this tag does NOT let you make shell crafts from the material etc, it just makes them available for strange moods demanding shells

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

As you can see at the bottom i have just added [SHELL] into the mix.
Worked for me, keep in mind you need to change the material template file in both your main folder and saved game folder.
Also it only applies to NEW items, so as I said make sure you choose an item which you can 'create' after making the changes.
I have not tried this with stones or metal bars but in theory it should work. I just found it convenient to set on an item which shares the same stockpile, is near useless, and can be created easily by slaughtering stuff.
