Mu Legend - Live Now!
« on: November 05, 2017, 11:50:24 pm »

Official Website

Another Diablo clone, with MMO format. Everything you would expect from those two things...a handful of diverse classes, RPG growth and customization, dungeons, bosses, guilds...you know the drill by now.

Technically November 7th is the launch of Open Beta, but there are no more wipes going forward, so it is effectively a soft-launch. Founder packs are available with mounts and wings and loot multipliers, offer ends at launch. Game is free to play even if you don't buy a pack.

Reviews are generally positive so far, so I'll be trying it, but not planning to spend monies yet.

Well, I made myself an archer babe. Only 25 levels in but enjoying it so far.

A few minor gripes...the graphics look rather poorly optimized. I'm sure I could get it looking much better with ReShade, but I'm not yet confident that it wouldn't flag their anti-hacking software. Also when dragging the mouse to move, my character stops immediately when the mouse button is released, rather than continuing to the last place my pointer was at. And when using the matchmaking for dungeons I always get paired with non-english-speaking allies.  The open world is more linear than I would like. And the queues for crowded servers are pretty bad, taking up to half an hour just to get in game at times.

Still, on the whole, I'm having fun.

Seeing how I'm a bit burned out on PoE and the new stuff for that is a month away I think I'll give this one a whirl. Looks nice enough, I'm slightly worried how much is the mmo aspect pushed. Is it possible to play solo for the most part? It's not that I hate playing with others it's just that I really hate playing with random internet dicks.

E:
Gave it a try today. It was ok, I like the somewhat different approach to the ARPG genre and it seems like it has potential. What brings it down is the abovementioned poor optimization, it's barely playable even on all low settings, and I understand that this is a laptop, but it's barely a year old and it's a pretty beefy one at that, capable of running much better looking games without nearly as much fps loss as here. Also the launcher is kinda wierd with the whole gameguard thing, it crashes for whatever reason and tries to open up a page in IE of all things, even tho it's not the default browser and hasn't been from the moment I had something else installed.

Also the artwork in general is goddamn pretty, tho I guess you wouldn't expect anything less from an asian company.
