Is there any way to remove track carved into the cavern floor ? besides channeling them out ? (haven't tried that but seems logical)

Build a floor over the top of them, then remove the floor.

There's a much easier way to remove tracks - smooth the floor and they'll go away.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

It's not very smooth after you carve a track into it is it? :P

According to the devlog, this is exactly what you're supposed to do. Re-smooth it.

I can't confirm however because I haven't played anything more recent than .07 yet.

I also just had a human diplomat enter from the surface, hold a meeting, then exit the map via hell.... I guess he thinks he's pretty hardass.

Since this happened yesterday and my short term memory isn't the greatest I think I tried re-smoothing to no avail. building floors worked. Interestingly , If you carve a downward stairway and build a floor over it, then remove the floor, the downward stairway is still there..not the constructed one but the designated one.

I hadn't done anything at all before with tracks, but just now I tried smoothing, carving tracks, and smoothing them out.  It worked.
