print_mode:text problem
« on: May 30, 2012, 11:11:57 am »

Hi, trying to use print_mode:text with 0.34.10 on a linux host (I can ssh to my house) but I get redraw problems; df frequently fails to clean previous text off the screen properly. for example, when I gen a world, the world map starts drawing over the text of the previous menu.
I'm using putty (actually putty_tray mod) as a client. I've tried various TERM= settings like xterm, linux, vt102, same issue. Set [SINGLE_BUFFER:YES] as well.
Makes it impossible to play; does anyone have advice on how to solve this? Does this work for other people, what terminal emulator you got?

thanks

Does it work if you run it in a local console on the pc itself?

That would rule out whether it's DF or your ssh client.

Dwarven blood types are not A, B, AB, O but Ale, Wine, Beer, Rum, Whisky and so forth.
It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.
