Getting retirered dwarf adventureres as migrants.
« on: May 25, 2012, 07:05:27 am »

Hi guys.
Do you have any luck getting some of your adventurers into your fort?
As I understand, it should be possible since the february update.

Yeah, I could do that. But it would be way cooler if I could get an adventurer i played and cared about.

You need to retire them in the region where your civ supposedly has a mountainhome.

I guess that means that I need to pick a civ, that shares a region with a human settlement for retirering?

Genning short history worlds probably help as well, as you'd have fewer historical figures to chose from.

I imagine creating a bunch of demi-gods with very high physical attributes could give you a very decent militia.

That or giving Dwarf entities mountainhomes. Keep in mind adventurers also arrive with everything they had in adventure mode... Does anyone know what happens when you restart a new adventurer from an adventurer that migrated into a fort?

That, or giving you an invincible vampire-necromancer-weresquid-husk  :P

I don't even know if this is possible, my gut says no, but I hope it does.

I had l;egendary swordsdawrf arrive one, kitted out with a long title. I wondered what was going on when I realized that it's first name wasn't a usual dwarven one Or goblin or even human or elf: My damn adventurer arrived with his damn kit. In a way I actually moved into my fort.

HAd another arrive later, not as skilled, but armored and carrying a bronze scimitar and using a crutch cause he had motor nerve damage.

Those two were the best soldiers I have ever had, except Sazir the one-handed Furnace operator and his fishery workers-turned swordmen.
