Hm, I don't have an evil ocean. I want an evil ocean. Yessssss...
It seems if i crank up the "savage" all i get are lots and lots of aquifers
Savagery is a different scale from good/evil. Higher savagery will make any region less hospitable, though.

The Giant Badger has become enraged!

About the hole to Hell: is that normal when demons escape during worldgen, or a sign that somehow the world is very very broken?

I would guess it must be broken from everyone's spastic reactions to speaking frankly about it. I mean, the very first world I genned had [content redacted] all the fuck over it in shittons spewing jizzward, but no one wanted to hear talk about [content redacted].

So that was probably a very broken world too, since I couldn't talk about 90% of the shit that went on without someone's pantytwist wedging their buttocks into literal halves and them having to hammer my semantics with parochial terms that 1) weren't relevent 2) weren't funny and 3) didn't inform anyone what the fuck was going on.

Yeah, I've had nothing but broken worlds that spoil everyone else's secrets.

6-7 demons "escape" in worldgen to become megabeasts or take over a goblin/human civ.

Here's a screenshot of the hell location:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Warnings: One north of that local area is smaller hole that only goes to the magma sea, but the river pours into it, which probably kills fps. Also, no iron ores, no flux, and the water appears to be salt.
Coolest. World. Ever.  8)

Certainly you could argue that DF is a lot like The Sims, only... you know... with more vomit and decapitation.
If you launch a wooden mine cart towards the ocean at a sufficient speed, you can have your entire dwarf sail away in an ark.

Seems kind of a dumb question but how did you search to find that on the map?

I didn't search to find it, I played an adventurer. See those human settlements there? Quest givers. And see that fuckload of lairs there? Quest targets. This world probably has more sites that just aren't as inevitable to find.

'Unique' clowns occasionally escape from the depths of the RNG to take over goblin/human civs. They never invade as megabeasts, but occasionally show up as diplomats.

Demon lawgivers have been around since I started playing the game. This world actually had 11 demon escapees, but only 2 survived the first century and impersonated gods to take control of countries. They both write a bunch of books giving their secret away, and their currency is named by their true demon name.

In my current world only two demons survived the 200 year history, a gecko demon and a gray devil (giant one-eyed tortoise that shoots webs). The gecko demons currently resides in a goblin fortress and has only tamed a few animals.

The Gray Devil on the other hand, wow. On year five he became master of a human civilization by impersonating a diety. That same civilization had a necromancer general who tamed grizzly bears and later left to make a tower somewhere.
The gray devil has written almost every book in the world, save for some made by necromancers. Every five years he creates the position of lord to ocuppy, as a matter of course.
Im curently trying to beef up my adventurer enough to make a pilgrimage to his remote fortress and kill him, hopefully starting a war beteen humans and dwarfs.
Then I will retire the adventurer and make a fort around that region.
