Darn lazy teenagers
« on: May 23, 2012, 02:48:21 pm »

For some reason I currently have a number of "children" who are age 13-15, over the age limit of 12, who yet refuse to work. They are all migrants. Why do they not seem to progress to adulthood? Is this a bug, a change, or what?

Status change from child to adult will occur during worldgen, or in fortresses at their birthday. When you play a fort, the world is frozen as it was at the end of worldgen- children no longer grow up until they immigrate and have a birthday. If you play long enough you'll get 40 year old child migrants.

I guess that's one way to take a year-long break... Anyway, thanks. Could be slightly useful for determing the age of your savegame, I suppose.

I must say that the solution to your problem is only a single wall away. And there seems to be at least one miner in the picture.
