dodging
« on: May 23, 2012, 11:08:54 pm »

I want to build a "dodge-me" trap with a death pit underneath it, but I have a couple questions about dodging mechanics. Can creatures dodge in 8 directions (n, ne, e, se, s, sw, w, nw) or can they only dodge in 4 directions (n, s, e, w)? When a creature dodges an attack, do they only physically move one space, or can they move 2 or more spaces?

Thanks for your help!

Dodging is one tile only. In adventure mode it can seem like it's more but what you're really seeing is the creature dodging multiple times during your turn interval. I'm pretty sure dodging can work in any direction but don't quote me on it.

8 directions and generally, a dodger moves 1 direction and either drops or triggers the next trap, dodges etc. If you are very unlucky, the dodger will seem to teleport to the end of your trapped area.

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.
