I can't find a [SPEED:125234672] tag in the raws; is it like this by default, making it necessary to add the tag myself? Or is there just no speed tag?

If a creature's SPEED isn't defined otherwise, it's set at the default 900. You have to add the SPEED tag. Where in the entry you add it doesn't really matter as long as you don't do it under a particular caste.
