The only other story I've heard about &'s being adventurer companions said that the & was picky about the enemies it fought. So you might find yourself left out to dry in certain situations.

Of course, even if that's true in every case, it's still totally worth it.

I wish I had a demonic companion... Then again, I think the goblins survived in my mini-realm... I'm gonna check if they have any demons to recruit }:)

Just loaded back on that adventure to see the difference from 2010 DF to now..... Got ambushed, he was nowhere to be found, Ran away from a few gobbos, saw one that was running towards me, but seemed to be bleeding so I went for him.....HORRIBLE IDEA. Wall of dust came, knocked me off my feet and rotted my eyes and nose off.... :(

Whenever i find one of these i like to imagine my character as a child with a demonic imaginary friend. Sort of like aladdin mixed with death note.

Be careful. You won't be able to avoid the dust forever (especially if it's undirected), and if it causes brain necrosis or something then recruiting him is pretty much game over.

You can find out exactly what his dust syndrome is by searching your world.sav (in the save folder) for his creature type (cream fiend or iguana brute or whatever) and sifting through the tag-jumble to find the syndrome attached to his extract. Sometimes randomly generated syndromes don't actually do anything because they apply effects to invalid targets (e.g. localized on an inhaled syndrome, or impair function on skin). It'd probably be more fun and more FUN to try and deduce its effects from observing it in action, though.

Also, is it really considered a spoiler to reveal something that is easily viewable in legends mode?

I had a demon companion once. I can't remember what he was, but he was certainly an avatar of death.

I f someone want demonci companions, just pu demon types in world gen to 1000. More tipes of demons means more types of
"twisted in humanoid form demons", and thus more demons in the surface.
Is quite easy to create a world where all the human and goblin civilizations are ruled by demons, with trusted general demons and
captured demons in their fortresses.

In a hole in the ground there lived a dwarf. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a dwarf fortress, and that means magma.
