worldgen wimps

I usually play with the wizard tower mod, and have often had problems with the game's signature wizard and sorcerers dieing off in worldgen. I can dampen this effect by increasing the number of civilizations, max populations, and other things like that, but I still don't know how to get around the relative weakness of individual wizard/ sorcerers. Sorcerers are very militaristic, but a record of sourcerous wars across a handful of worlds reveals
3 civs eradicated by dwarven attacks
4 civs eradicated by humans
2 civs eradicated by elves
1 pocket world where a bunch of megabeasts killed almost everything
1 civ eradicated by an irate lizard fiend and it's human followers
1 civ in which half the sorcerers were killed by the human Pobe Berrynations, who was then eaten by a random Jaguar.

seriously, is there anything i can change to make sorcerers better in worldgen.

Compromise position: Turn the mother bear, train the babies to use pyromancy and then eat Alice.

Adding this to the entity file should help:

[MAX_STARTING_CIV_NUMBER:100]
[MAX_POP_NUMBER:10000]
[MAX_SITE_POP_NUMBER:120]

And then raising the number of civs in worldgen to a very high number.
