Pagedquills - Invasion of the Rugrats

My friend's first fortress, I think this is sometime during her second year:


Apparently she received a migrant group during her first year that was entirely children, then the next migrant group was a family with 9 children, and only one of whom was actually old enough to work.  The children promptly ate all the food and drank all the liquor and are now eating vermin in the wilderness.

This was probably one of the most unique DF stories I've ever seen so I had to post it.

Children showing up and drinking all the booze?  Pretty typical, actually, which is why mine go into the magma.

It's never happened to me.  I think once I got about 3 children in a migrant wave in the 5th year, but I've never seen it happen (especially twice in a row) this early on in the game.

It saddens me to see such potential sacrificed to the Blood God at such a young age. You'd be annoying as hell too if you weren't allowed to roam the outside of the fortress, fighting sieges and making potash like a true Dwarf.
