Alrighty, so i was raiding a necro tower and i clear the first floor and attempt to go up to the second floor, im not sure what keys i pressed to get up the stairs. I walk up to find 5 reanimated lashers staring me down at the top, so i flee back down to the aid of my companions and dispatch the zombies. Then when i try to go up the stairs again, it will not let me, any ideas?

There's probably a zombie standing at the top. Sometimes they don't notice you for whatever reason, even if you're standing right next to them. Try using the "A" screen to attack one of them, but be warned: they might counterattack and kill you.

There's a zombie blocking the hatch. Lie down and go up.

[doing this will almost certainly result in your death, but it's pretty much the only way]

That is why we need mining in adventure mode.  Knock out all the interior walls on the first floor, then take out the outer walls for a massive cave-in that could possibly also kill you too.  Heck, create a Urist Expendable to do it with.
