Were stoats? What exactly do stoats do anyway?
Stoats are just weasels with short tails.

Has anyone ever seen (or heard) of a Were unicorn? That would be awesome, though due to my limited werebeast encounters I've yet to know if that is possible.

I think only mundane animals can be were.

I had a human show up, and run away. I never got to see what he turned into, unfortunately.

I've had that too.

The human Bob Bobson has come!  A medium-sized creature prone to great ambition!  Now you will know why you fear the night!

Engraved on the floor is a well-designed image of a kobold and a carp.  The kobold is making a plaintive gesture.  The carp is laughing.

Technically a were-human would be destined to be naked forever. Just saying.

Yes.

IIRC, there are settings preventing this.

if I am correct, I call BS.
You can embark on lairs containing whole families of joyous night creatures

I've not had a were-beast survive long enough to infect my dwarfs. Do infected dwarfs become controllable when they've changed back? Or are they uncontrollable forever after the initial change?

They are normal dwarfs unless it is that time of the month.

I had a weremouse come to my fortress and now one dwarf is infected (another was infected as well, actually he was the one who infected my current weremouse, but he is as dead as the original). I walled him in in the hospital and now he is forever content in his 1x1 room, sometimes admiring that bed. Now that I think of it, I should assign it to him.

And after the ass FB jokes, now the wereass jokes. Bah.

Also, what are the requirements of werebeasts ? Terrestrial, non-[FANCIFUL] animal ? Too bad, I wanted weredragons and weresharks and weresponges (THE HORROR) and werecarp.

Also, were-giant desert scorpions. Even better than the werebadger. I want a whole fort of were-GDS.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That sounds like it would be really awesome except i'm not sure dwarves would survive the bite without steel armor.  Not to mention what came after the bite, that lovely sting.

Were dragons? Oh god, if you didn't catch the infection and the dwarf was in your main meeting area when he turned, you would be screwed over long before your military got there...

Edit: inb4 werecarp gives someone nightmares

That should be a new type of project, making a rug design in dwarf fortress (With accurate coloring)
