Animals pulling minecarts?
« on: May 03, 2012, 11:03:56 am »

Historically, minecarts were often pulled by draught animals (e.g. mules)
A miner would fill up the cart, slap the mule on the rump and it would drag the cart to where it would be emptied.
A miner at that spot would empty the cart, move the mule to the front of the cart and give it a slap,
where it would drag the cart back to the working face.

Has anyone heard if this will be possible?

I believe so. Look at the DevLog and this: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=106473.0

He said he was doing it, and adding feeding stations so they wouldn't die.

I think he more recently said he was putting the animals on hold for now, not 100% on that last part :p

Is it because light travels faster than sound,
that people appear bright until you hear them speak?

Well horse and mules and yaks, especially those whom are male have become more useful then. I do support deer pulling carts as well, fawns even just to make it funnier.
