Hey guys!  :D

I'd love to be added into the turn cycles if it isn't full. I started off playing in 38c (Ah... The days of Regional Prospector...) but haven't played since roughly 39a due to a rage quit over something that I can't remember... =\

I've been playing lately and getting back into DF but I'm still not the best... My last fortress died because Specters of Snow invaded and then one half got flooded by magma (I have since learned to channel the magma and not use floodgates...) and then the other half was flooded with water. I'm still working out why it flooded... The joys of Dwarf Fortress.

Ooh, finally, a succession game for the uneducated masses. I'd love to be added to the turns if you've got the space. And if we get to my turn, then I'll be so proud of you guys.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

Journal of Hawk, Ditzy Mason

6th Hematite
A dwarf came up to me today crying about how someone had stolen a xcave spider silk tunicx. I don’t see why we even care, it was full of holes anyway. But a few others claim to have seen a ghost running off with it. Great for him, he can be a well dressed ghost for all I care.

13th Hematite
Some young dwarf calling himself wypie has declared himself Captain of the Guard. He has a crossbow, so I'm not going to be the one to tell him he can't.

20th Hematite
Migrants! 17 of them, to be exact. And not a useful one in the bunch.

Slothen has also grown attached to our artifact mace, despite the fact that he has yet to earn a single kill to his name. May it serve him well, regardless. If we are lucky he will have few chances to use it.

4th Malachite
Another great monster now lurks beneath our fortress.

15th Galena
An uneventful month is punctuated by the arrival of a human caravan. I give them most of our worn clothes in exchange for a bit of booze and a few other odds and ends.

12th Limestone
A peasant seems to be taken by a fey mood. He’s claimed a craftdwarf’s shop and set to gather materials.

16th Limestone
The tombs are complete! All of our fallen have been moved into coffins deep in the earth, and there is some room to spare if we lose more dwarves in the future.

23rd Limestone
Well… it certainly is a very nice bracelet. If you overlook the leeches.

26th Moonstone
Flickerfly’s suddenly gotten a secretive mood! Unsurprisingly, she claims a mason’s workshop, grabs some stone and gems, and sets to work.

3rd Opal
MINE! Ahem. I mean, Flickerfly has created this wonderful coffin. She’s perfected the art of masonry and is now legendary.

1st Granite
Well, it seems my time as overseer has come to an end. I hope I will be remembered as one who helped to bring art and culture to this fortress. In honor of her great statues, I've decided to name FlickerFly as my successor. I feel that we will all be safe in her hands.

In light of all my achievements here, I hope no one begrudges me the quarters and tombs I had built for myself. After all, how can one bring culture without living surrounded by it?

Notes

-I created a new mausoleum and moved the dwarves down into it. There's room to expand and some unclaimed coffins down there. The larger chambers can be used for creating tombs for overseers/important dorfs if you'd like, or you can just jam them full of coffins. There's still a ghost or two floating around; the next overseer might want to see to getting them slabbed. One of them has stolen at least three articles of clothing this year. Don't ask me what he intends to do with it. The zombies were buried in the previous graveyard near the surface.

-We're fine on food, but dangerously low on booze. In the population boom I neglected our stills. Speaking of population booms I gave up trying to carve bedrooms for everyone and placed a communal dorm for the immigrants.

-I started expanding the militia, but they're not all equipped yet as far as I could tell. No conflicts this year, so no need to use them.

-We've got about 5 FBs in the caverns right now, about half of them fly. This is a problem because our above-ground well freezes in winter, so we'll have to figure out the water issue eventually.

-Everyone who's been asked to be dorfed has been, I believe.

Good stuff.  and haha about the mace.  Also, the next overseer needs to make a tomb for that lorbam guy with the artifact coffin that has his name on it.  I mean, that sounds pretty prophetic to me.
