Fast-Travel From Underground?
« on: May 04, 2012, 04:51:34 pm »

I noticed this in the wiki for Caverns under Adventure mode:

Quote
...if you manage to reach a cavern area immediately underneath a town you will be able to fast-travel to the surface.

I am in a cavern area directly under a city with sewer access, but I still get the unable to fast-travel message. Is there some trick to doing it?

Well, I do know you can fast travel if you are in an aboveground tile even if that tile happens to be very deep in the earth.

For example, if you stand in under one of the sewer grates where you can see the sun, you can fast travel away and you'll end up on the surface in town.

You seemingly cannot travel from underground, but you do can retire while standing under some settlement. I was even able to retire form hell once. When you, uh, un-retire back, you will be on the surface.
