Who else has thought this?
« on: May 03, 2012, 09:14:44 pm »

When you first embark, if you look at the dead/missing part of the units screen, it says, no one has died or gone missing. The year is still young.  Who else sees this as the game promising death to your poor dorfs?

OK, I have to reload the save.
There was a bit of a problem regarding flashfreezing, a ballistae, and a barrel of dwarven ale. Gonna fix it up.

There are a lot of fun little comments like that in the game.

"She was born today, which makes her very young indeed."

Well, it IS promising death to your poor Dwarves.  Because some of them WILL die.

Welcome to Dwarf Fortress ;)

I guess it's along the same lines of why we have alchohol dependent babies.  It's in their blood (the booze that is).

Hey, the first build order to my first mason's workshop is always Door, Door, Rock Coffin. Because the world is a dangerous place...
