I reclaimed my current fort after abandoning my last one as a caravan was visiting, and now all of their stuff has been left to me for free. The problem is that all those (<<-Steel Bolts->>) can't be used, nor any of the armor or anything. It's all just parenthesed and unusable/unsellable. Really aggravating.

believe me I've done that. I periodically wipe the entire map of forbidden items with d-b-c. They're not forbidden, I can assign them to certain dwarves. I can't sell them, and if I say dwarves wear metal armor, dwarves wont wear them. I don't like micromanaging my dwarves like that.
