I kept running through the tundra, but the thing was behind me, a huge wall of frozen water, I cant go back, I do not seem to be able to go forward anymore, time and space are warped...
edit I do not know how I can upload a save or a pic, there also is a huuuuge fps drop (27, even worse than with my 16 year old fort in dwarf mode)

tried to go back north, now fps drop to 1 XD

Or go to sleep.

Going to sleep will stop the waves if you don't want to fast travel and will help if you're drowsy.

If you do want to fast travel, just get out of there. The wall of ice is a frozen wave.

thanks, I tried to swim and walk in the ocean but it got even worst, I think I wont go to the pole anymore. the idea was to cross to another landmass.

Try to find an entrance to the underworld, perhaps in a ruined city. Remember: the nightgaunts serve hoary Nodens, not the Other Gods, they may help you if you know their meeping language.
