Elf Dwarven King
« on: April 10, 2012, 10:31:51 am »

Greeting priests of Armok, I bring terrible news!

In my current world somehow an elf managed to become KING of my dwarven civilization. When I go to the Civilizations screen it says:

Catten Idenilid: King/Elf Siege Engineer

How the hell did an Elf manage to become king of the dwarven civilization (Which is called The Citadel of Dimples by the way).

And more important, how do I fix it? I could get my wealth so that the king wants to come over to get assisinated, but that will mean that I will have to live under his tyrany for a couple more years, which I can not tolerate.

Elf Siege Engineer

Make a copy of your save folder and check his legend.

History doesn't really show anything, he was born as an elf, in 178 became clothier in an Dwarfen city, and in 245 he started worshipping some Dwarven god and then in 266 he became king. My game is in the year 407, so he has been ruling for 140 years with no entries into his legend.

Side note;

I found an awesome vampire that climbed to be general of "The Citadel of Dimples", that has 9776 kills, and lead the Citadel of Dimples in a giant invasion with about 16 years of 10 battles per year. He is no longer general tough : (

EDIT: The vampire now lives in Farmboot, where he lives along side an amphibian man vampire, a goblin vampire and some other vampires.

You obviously have not heard/read about King Cacame.

Having an elf king is not a bad thing.  The most important thing to consider... is that this elf managed to usurp the previous dwarven king.  Dwarven kings are powerful, only being usurped by a more powerful being.  This elf king is a being of such prowess that he commands dwarves.  That is not a sign of weakness.  This is a sign that your dwarves are realists.

"Ey Lodom, you hear about the new elf king?"
"Elf king, what madness is this?!"
"I 'unno, but I heard he killed a dragon or sommat."
"Dragon eh... well, must not be too bad of an elf."

Also, this means if you abandon fort and start over and over and over, the king will follow you without dropping dead on arrival at some point.

I agree with this. It's possible he's a dwarfy elf. (yes, oxymoron.)
