Quick French language question
« on: April 04, 2012, 08:09:41 pm »

Posting here for a quicker response.

Does "Love and Flowers" translate into "Amour et Fleurs," (Google translate helped) or is there vital punctuation and unfortunate implications I should worry about?  This is for a mock board game for school.  :3

I'm really rusty on French, but I think that 'les' is superfluous. (As in, 'Love and the flowers', which is a little different.)

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

That's "the love and the flowers". You're probably looking for "du amour et des fleurs", though "amour et fleurs" would probably fine for colloquial use.

No, 'le', 'la', 'l'' and 'les' quite literally translate to 'the', you typically only use them in situations where you'd use 'the' in English. If you wouldn't, use 'du', 'de la', 'de l'' or 'des'.
