I have survived a lot of sieges and I clean up the battle field everytime. I bin all the items and throw all of the corpses into the refuse pile. I have to keep expanding it because it keeps filling up and the bodies aren't disapearing. the regular stuff like bones and such will go away after a while, but the goblin and troll bodies don't seem to be.

I've heard that eventually, after decaying to skeletons, those skeletons will decay into usable bones, but I've never seen it happen.

I have never seen a "skeleton" or a "partial skeleton" go away by itself.  Arms and legs will eventually turn into bones, but only if they were severed before death.
