That's not even close to being the best randomly generated DF Earth I've ever seen. Yes, there's more than one. Dem fucking dorfs, man.

Didn't someone make a world that looked literally 99% like Earth?

I want to find that thread again.

Yes. As I recall, the UK was a terrifying swamp and the US East Coast was a good-aligned elven heartland or something. But physically, just like Earth, yes.

I get how this is earth. America declared war on china and russia. They had a weird wepon that caused the world to switch (ie. were north america is, asia would be), however it screws up and doesnot move europe, america or certain parts of south america and australia, asia end up moving onto america, causing america to be IN asia. Europe panics and shoots nukes at the america/asia trying to free it somehow, and then the force of all the nukes causes asia raises up and fold over the other half of asia, crushing america THEEND

No, people, we've been looking at this all wrong: this is Earth, it's just that it is Earth after massive orbital bombardment and 39,000 years of continental drift and shifting sea levels.

Um... that guy imported a heightmap of europe.  Considering that, it is a pretty epic failure of looking like Europe, honestly... Not the other way around.

Dwarf fortress in 50 words: You start with seven alcoholic, manic-depressive dwarves. You build a fortress in the wilderness where EVERYTHING tries to kill you, including your own dwarves. Usually, your chief imports are immigrants, beer, and optimism. Your chief exports are misery, limestone violins, forest fires, elf tallow soap, and carved kitten bone.

Actually, his europe was alright, DF placed the rivers more or less where they were supposed to be, which is what he was bragging about.

The N America one is really good, but he also imported a heightmap.

Guys, you're looking at this all wrong.  Clearly Earth doesn't look enough like this map!  Grab your shovels and start digging.

It...  looks... kinda-ish like an earthlike Civ world?  I say you should embark, pretend your civ is Tokogawa's, proceed to ruin everyone else's day.

Alternately:  Play in Adventure mode.  Pick a blob to be Madagascar, and import every possible vampire/were curse and syndrome into it.  Because...  Madagascar.  Fuck Madagascar.

He used perfectworlddf for that, bro.
Pretty awesome tool, but not exactly randomly generated xD
Even so, its neat that the rivers generate a bit correctly.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

I more curious about what would have to happen to earth for it to look like that.
Why, the dorfs did, of course!
