Epic, but short lived fort.
« on: March 30, 2012, 11:13:14 am »

I made one last night, called Priceknife. Over its 7 year history it accumulated over half a million in wealth and made several artifacts, even repelled a siege. Its undoing was the major power of that world - a dragon. It visited the fortress and roasted near everyone, but died on my sawblade trap.

This moved the world into the Golden Age. Unfortunately, all that was left were the mayor and several children.... Now im getting ghosts as migrants on the new fort in another location...

You can reclaim, you can memorize ghosts from old forts now, so, let the story live on!

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Surely not.

this is the first time I've heard of a dragon doing any damage in the traditional sense.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

ive heard of this happening on volcano reclaims....  something to the effect that the top level of magma in the volcano gets moved one z up, thus producing an "eruption" effect.

I can just picture the poor mayor struggling to feed all the kids, having to tell them all everything will be ok and whatnot.

Bet that poor bastard would be scarred for life...

I doubt it's still an issue, given that giant pits are no longer a feature, but there was a thing where the game decided there should be a giant pit and a magma tube in the same spot and that caused the eruption effect.
