does the world change at at after gen?

if i start a fortress at year 5, and play it to 500 (theoreticaly) would the world have changed at all from how it was when i started?
would there be road's, villages and whatnot that spawn during my time in the fortress?

No, sorry. What's worse, ff you played a fortress for 500 years when you abandon it, every mortal in the world will be to old to live when you try to play again in the same world.
