Author Topic: Whatever happened to that other in-development zombie survival RPG?  (Read 1449 times)

Games like Cataclysm and Zomboid have kindled a growing appreciation for survival RPGs in me, and I remember a project that I'm pretty sure has not been released yet, but I can't find any info about it, or remember its name. ::)

I'm pretty sure it's an indie development, but the studio seemed pretty organised, if their website is anything to judge by. The website for it is quite unique. Updates are posted on notepad-looking pages, with lore written from the perspective of the survivors or specific ingame characters... I forget which. The game itself is isometric, and looks to have something of a storyline mode (judging by some screenshots showing dialog text between some characters), but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Project Zomboid. All I remember of its name is that it sounded very... to-the-point.

I remember the game being touted as very realistic, with slow zombies, and including things like vehicles (I think). I'm not sure if the maps are randomly generated or not.

That's about all I remember about it. I was looking forward to it, but I didn't see any new updates for a while and I eventually forgot about it. Someone here will know though, I'm sure. ;)

I once shot a bear in the eye with a bow on the first shot, cut it up, found another one, and shot it in the eye too. The collective pile of meat weighed more than my house.

One only needs to look at my signature.

EDIT: It also helps that I was just watching (or rather listening) to a video where the commentator briefly mentioned this game.

Hah! :) What a coinky-dink.

Looks like they're actually gearing up for a Kickstarter. Interesting. The forums are pretty active and I see a lot of development progress reports.

I'm very glad it still seems to be going strong! Bookmarking now, so I don't lose them again. :D

For people who like Dead State, it very rarely leaves their mind. I'm sure I could have come up with it had I been checking the thread at that moment.

There's also The Dead Linger, which sounds like it wants to be Zomboid as an FPS.

This game has been in my sights since...  well, I don't know, but yea....

I for one can say I don't think about it a lot...  it helps in part on the patience...
