Possessed by a Being with Sociophobia
« on: March 27, 2012, 04:50:05 am »

It seems the being that possessed the first dwarf in my new fort is afraid of people. He's been sitting in his (well not his, I only assign rooms to special people) room standing on his bed not eating or drinking for a few (ingame) days. Is this normal? Or is there a bug?

Also:

For Elven Caravans, heh heh heh. Until I get lava of course :D

If he's just stood around, it means you don't have the type of workshop he requires to get his mood on.

Any way to find out what kind of workshop he wants?

Also if I don't get the right workshop in time will he just starve to death?

Looks like he needs a Clothier's Workshop, hope this isn't completely useless.

Clothes are excellent for exporting in bulk and now dwarves will wear them.

If you can set up a clothing industry, it's great to keep your dwarves clothed and to export for mass profits.

Burial
« Reply #9 on: March 27, 2012, 09:43:30 pm »

He just got dehydrated and died, in his room, I un-forbade the door and no one buried him even though I have a tomb underground. Though it's not assigned to him now. The room he was in is full of miasma and to prevent his mourning wife from getting disgusted I had to forbid the door again. Why aren't they burying him?

I think you've misunderstood 'possessed' in this case.

It means possessed by the idea for a unique item, not possessed by an ethereal being. What you have there is a Strange Mood, so (as people have already said here) he won't move until he gets a workshop to build his special item in.

they probably aren't burying him because the door is locked  :P

The door is unlocked at this point and the corpse is still rotting and attracting flies.

Did you have the forbid-on-death on? If the door is unlocked and they can reach him but won't bury him, then his body must be forbidden. You can unforbid it with d b c. If they still won't bury him for some reason, try removing his tomb setting and just allowing the coffin to accept burial. They should put him in his place then.

Looks like removing the tomb designation fixed it, so he just has a 1x1 tomb. Too bad.
