Abandoned Irritation
« on: March 25, 2012, 09:18:24 am »

So after much mental struggle, I embarked a fortress, and lo and behold, I made the wrong decision. How can I make it, so that I can change the size of the reclaim area, or just re-gen the world? Much thanks.

if you haven't saved or clicked abandon yet (or for the future), just force quitting the executable will save the embark, if you have, you can extract the worldgen info from the save.
Legends Mode -> export map (p) will make a text file of the worldgen parameters, the mineral layout may differ a bit but the lands and things should be the same.

If you're using hack, the "die" command works, otherwise ctrl+shift+esc and kill task.

If you've already saved, then you'll have to regen the world.

If you've saved, go to the in-game exit menu, and export an image. In your df folder, there be a world gen parameters file, with whatever region you used. The seeds are at the top.

Go into advanced world generator, select the size world you used, and enter the seeds there.

If you've already abandoned, as mentioned before, you can get the seeds from the legends screen, as well.
