The new training
« on: March 24, 2012, 02:12:52 pm »

None of my animal trainers will train any of my animals. They did for a while then gave up. Any thoughts?

Also how do I make war animals now? I've tried setting war training in the animals menu but nothing seems to happen.

I think its done through the animals menu instead of the kennel now. You need to setup a training zone too. (i)zone (t)raining

it's save game compatible, up to a point.

if you got lots of exotics you might need to do some crisis management. If you got lots of naked people, you may need to power up some clothing industry.

Having another issue. I have chained dogs in a training area and I've designated any trainer to train them for war. The trainers have the animal training labour turned on and can access the dogs. The activity zone is active.

No training.

What on earth am I doing wrong? Have dog (adult), have trainer, have assignment, have activity zone, have access. Is there anything stupid I've forgotten? I've tried assigning to individual trainers, redesignating the zone, freeing the dogs, caging the dogs. Any thoughts? I managed to train dogs in this exact spot with this exact method about a game year ago.

They were idling for ages. I tried moving the whole zone and chaining them elsewhere and that seems to have worked. Still not sure what the problem was.

go into your stocks menu with (z), then open up the menu for animals, afterwards, all you have to do is designate a trainer or any trainer to that animal for training. For example, my wolverines I captured I had my "lackey" train it in case something went wrong. FFortunatley, it was trained in its cage, so I had a semi wild wolverine. Later, I managed to capture another one (I traded off the smi wild one to an elven caravan, and lo and behold, it left and became wild again :D ) and then trained it the same way making it trained, but not "tame", which adds to my question: whats the scales for taming animals? wild, semi wild, trained, tame?
