weapons are for bunging at people

real adventures creep up to their targets and choke them to death.

Had to google bunging.

Weapons are for butchering corpses, real adventurers charge blindly into the midst of bandits armed only with their own !!Second Finger!!

I googled bunging, urban dictionary's description was just... bad.

Yes, they call you a rasict, and then they shot you and take your cocaine.

Synonyms of bung include 'cob', 'chuck' and 'lob'.

Take the whip off the first gobbo bandit you kill, you are now god. Still got killed by the carving knife that "diety" was holding though...

a spear has better stabbing power
Not necessarily. In the raws, the tip of a spear has contact area 20. The tip of a large dagger has contact area 5. The dagger is four times sharper. If you ever get the chance to switch to a boning knife, that's contact area 2—ten times as sharp as a spear.
The problem with this assessment is that spears have much better penetration; while boning knives have much smaller contact areas, they also have much lower penetration. So you could probably take down a medium or small sized creature, but against a semimegabeast, large ungulate, megabeast, Titan, etc., you'll be

boned, while a spear can penetrate deep enough to hit vital organs. That said, there isn't anything keeping you from running around with a knife and whatever other weapon you want, provided you are playing with the adventurer reaction mod/in a world with some sort of backpack-creating life.

spears and knives both make good throwing weapons too. then again, so do stones, axes, bones, skulls, corpses, mud, water... pretty much everything except coins actually.

Keep the weapon that does not get stuck inside an enemy rib-cage ;-)

However, as certain troll from Ultima Underworld used to say, "Using weapons is cheating!"

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.

Going unarmed in adventure mode is suicide. You might be able to take something down if you're good and it's alone, but generally you'll want something to hit with. If I was an outsider, I would keep the spear.
