I'm confused. I just started an adventurer maybe 30 minutes ago, first one in... a long time. Hero dwarf, killed two night creatures and am on my way to have a neighborly chat with the local necromancer. I was ambushed bya  pack of dingos, and killed them all in a spray of blood and guts. I butchered them all, took their meat, and continued on my way.

I'm almost at the necromancer, or where he's supposed to be anyways, and I notice that I am both 'Starving' and 'Dehydrated.'

'No problem', I say, and I drink my water and eat my prepared whateveristartedwiths.

I'm still very hungry and very thirsty. I try to cook the dingo meat with a campfire... but nothing. I eat it normally and that seems to work so whatever, fine by me. Then I take a look at my empty waterskin. There's no well around, atleast not that I could see, but there IS a river. However, when I fill my waterskin there, it's 3 units of 'Stagnant Water'. This was fine for about 1 drink, but now when I try to drink it, it only says ''No, that's digusting.''

Am I going to die because I'm apparently really picky, even when it comes to survival?

Hi!

Can your adventurer swim? If so, I suggest you swim in the river and then drink the water covering off your body. That covering should usually be okay. As for the amount, I am not sure, but it should help a bit.

However, you may run into trouble because you ate the meat. As far as I know, eating and drinking three times in a row is all you can do before you get the "You are too full" message. So, concentrate on the water if you are dehydrated.

Edit: Holy damn, I have no idea why that works, but it does. I get this weird image in ym head though of ym dwarf coming out of the river, then crazily licking the water off various parts of his body.

Stagnant water often spreads like a nanovirus through bodies of water. One drop and the whole thing is contaminated.

Fast traveling or waiting one hour allows you to eat three units of food again. Eat, travel, eat, travel, you'll be back to normal in no time.

For water, most people either fill up an extra leather bag when they find a good river (100 units) or subsist by drinking the blood and rainwater spatters on their clothing and weapons.

Weeeeeeeeeelp. That adventurer just died. No bridge nearby, tried to swim across the river.. got my @ confused with my spearman's, and was trying to move when I was against the wall with no slope. Drowned.

Oh well, atleast now I know a way where I won't die of dehydration. :/
