Yep, I'm at it once more folks, so let's see how long this takes to complete.

Alright people, you should all know the drill already:  I'm doing a Nuzlocke run of my personal favorite Pokemon game.

~Da Rules~
1.  Death is Permanent.  If one of my guys' dies, they're going in the box.
2.  One per route.  I catch the first I see, so long as it's new.
3.  Nickname all these guys.
4.  I'm going to allot myself THREE retries if I get whited out.  I reset to the earliest save(state) before whatever wiped me, out of the danger zone that did it.  If I die, I'm to revert to that state and not die again god dammit.
5.  I'm allowed to catch legendaries, but I'm not to use them or nickname them.

There should be an update once every one to two weeks, with more depending on how I feel about it.

Name that Pokemon!

If you guys want something with a particular name, say so in the thread!  If I encounter and catch it, it'll receive that name.  Simple, no?  I'll keep this spot open for any potential buddies.

I'm actually going to answer that for us:  I've picked the girl as the trainer.

As for the starter?  I decided to go random.  I'll be rolling a standard die for the choice with these as the results: 1-2 is Turtwig, 3-4 is Chimchar, 5-6 is Piplup.

They all still need names, though!  The trainer, and one for our first bud.

The first pokemon should be named:Florence

Then Jean is good. You have your masculine name and I have my feminine. Win-win.

Florence is a good name for a Pokemon. I insist we get one named Florence sooner or later.

For critter names, go with species-appropriate foods, to get you in the right mood of expendibility. For chimchar, at least, Bushmeat. For Turtwig, Calipash. Not finding any interesting food-related names for penguins, though. Still, the idea comes across.

Journal Entry - 1

I was flopped onto the floor catching the end of Professor Rowan's speech - I understood it alright.  "Pokemon are by our side.  Always."  They were there for us to lead.  They were there for them to protect us.  Still kinda hard to believe that this all happened though.  I have my own Pokemon!  With this little guy, I'll be able to head up the League and take down the Champ with no problem - how could I have a problem when I inherited my father's natural skill?  I just need to follow the rules and start climbing up the ranks, one gym at a time.

I started to get up to my feet and I clicked off the TV when I heard the door downstairs burst open.  Yes, burst.  Like something had ran face first into it...like he always did.  Poor Barry...never seems to remember that he can stop and open it and he'd be almost as fast.

:  Hey Jean!  Did you just see the TV?  Sure you did!  Professor Rowan's that really important guy who studies Pokemon, right?  That means he must have lots and lots of Pokemon!  So, if we ask him, I bet he'd give us some Pokemon!









He had said all that in less than twenty seconds.  I timed it.  And it had taken him less than ten seconds to get to my room, from his room in the upstairs of the next house over.  Whatever they're feeding him should be illegal.

I sat down and tried to understand everything he said which was thankfully a bit easier now since we've known each other since we were barely out of diapers and I finally just had to grin at his idea.  "Nothing ventured nothing gained," right?  Maybe we could get something from him...it may not have been powerful or rare, but it'd be mine.  I went on downstairs after that, taking a pretty leisurely pace - even if I ran, I'd never get there in time to avoid his 'fine' so I may as well take it easy, right?

I hear Lucas calling for me.  Time to go I think.

Yay for first update!  No Pokemon yet, but tell me what you all think?  And does anyone know of a better DS emulator than No$GBA?  It has issues when I take screenshots, it seems.  And I'll edit out the lower half of the screens later, I just wanted to get this out to you guys first.
