Turn off notifications?

So I've just recently gotten back into DF and am not quite good enough to keep a fortress for any amount of time, so I mostly do adventure mode.  The problem is, I'm a necromancer and have 168 followers (zombies)who are currently wreaking havoc in a town, every time I move, i have to go through 5 pages of notifications before I can move again. Can anyone tell me how to turn off notifications?

its in the init files. open up d_init and change [MORE:YES] to [MORE:NO]
