I wear a pair of white sneakers I got a while ago. Protip: get boots for the winter if you live in a country where it gets -25 (C) in the winter. Slipping on ice and having snow melt into your socks is not pleasant.

Sneakers, usually. When it gets really hot, i wear sandals, while colder weather/excessive hiking prompts a pair of sturdy boots that go like CLOMP CLOMP when i walk. Indoors? SLIPPERS, OH YEAH. For 3/4ths of the year, the Danish climate doesn't really lend itself well to keeping your feet warm. I hate having cold extremities.

norwegian army Alfa M77 boots.

DO WANT.

Oh and, btw, guys it's practically the dead of summer here in Pennsylvania, so winter boots would be a bit impractical atm.

Flip-flops, whenever possible.

When it's rainy/cold, I wear slip-ons. I'm a fan of heiphenated footwear.

They look like this. Not sure how easy they are to find overseas though. You could order from the factory, but it'd probably cost you $2-300. On the plus side they last a decade with proper maintenance and can be used all year.

I've been wearing sneakers for a while, of varying brands. The problem is that since puberty, my feet have been so large that it's been difficult to find a pair of shoes anywhere but the Internet, although perhaps I should give the stores around here a check since I recently moved. Anyway, this has made shoes really, really expensive (usually $120+).

However, I ordered a pair of boots that cost half of what shoes usually do, even with an insert added to the cost, and with a little MacGyver-ing I should have them comfortable enough for use at work, where I've already established they're much easier on the legs than my old shoes. I'm gonna have to see if it's possible to trim down the heel of the insert (which is foam, not gel, fortunately), which makes the interior slope of the boots far too steep for proper support when combined with the 1 inch heel, and also see what I can do to improve grip, which seems to be a problem on the tile floors at the hospital. I'm considering a layer of super glue on the bottom, and then coating it with sand, before a long outdoor walk to knock loose anything that isn't going to stay.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'm more a trainers person, although I'm not picky when boots or shoes are required. Personally I just choose the option that provides the most comfort overall

Sturdy leather boots that reach halfway to my knee, because I work in snow and mud currently.

Plain leather shoes for going out, which isn't all that often.

I own four pairs of shoes:

-Walking boots (don't see much use, I wear them when I'm going to be walking over dodgy ground (e.g. mud, snow, etc))
-Trainers (Pretty much the standard footwear, wear these all the time)
-Leather shoes (for when I want to look smart)
-Shiny leather shoes (for formal occasions)

I own one pair of shoes.

They are skateboarding shoes, the kind that is thin and very flexible in front and hard and springy in back.

I mostly dont wear shoes though, they make my feet hurt or cramped or itchy, only own the one because skateboarding without shoes leads to foot lacerations.

Converse! Converse Converse Converse. Only good shoes ever. Things of beauty, true masterpieces in footwear.
I only have one (usable) pair at the moment, sadly, and they are shin-high boots which take about twenty minutes to lace up... But screw practicality, they're Converse!
Otherwise I'll wear boots, either my lace-up Redback "headkickin' boots" or a plain-but-servicable pair of pull-on workboots. I used to go barefoot lamost all the time, to the point that I had pretty massive callouses on my feet from running, but I don't so much now.
Tl;dr: Converse are the best kind of shoes ever. :D
