Just imagine how awesome would be turning imprisoned humanoids like goblins or kobolds into slaves, lets say you want to channel magma from a volcanoe but you are scared of loosing an experienced miner, what do you do? send a goblin on a suicide mission. They could be free labor ( low level, for example never higher than 5 skill levels ).

Dwarves have this tag [ETHIC:SLAVERY:PUNISH_CAPITAL]
so you'd probably have to mod it if it was implemented if you
didn't want your hammerer freaking out and slaughtering everyone.

This is something that has come up several dozen times.  The response is basically always the same: Toady is not going to focus his time and effort on making a system that he doesn't want for dwarves in Fortress Mode until after he starts working on making things like Goblin Tower mode possible.

And there is no advantage in  having slaves (Neither a difference between worker/free man and a slave) as there is no economy or currency.
