Dwarfes renamed during combat
« on: March 13, 2012, 10:06:44 am »

My three legendary sworddwarf (one of them actually my adventurer settled in my fortress) fend off huge goblin invasion, after that i discover that they were renamed like this:

Zon Walledoranges became  Zon Walledoranges the Cobalt Roar of Bands.

What does that mean, why he renamed?

Any NPC or dwarf that gets enough kills gets a title.

hu, how you did that? I must misunderstand... You are not saying you playing an adventurer, and you can still play with him in fortress mode?

I setled him in mountainhome (rest or retire as peasant) and he came to my fortress with immigration wave.

When you say you retired him in the Mountainhome, you mean you just took him to the barren area that the mountainhome is theoretically supposed to exist, right?

That's the point, it wouldn't be as fun to crush their souls if they didn't have souls to begin with.

I believe you do not even need to retire a dwarf adventurer near a mountainhome, but simply retire them in any hamlet, and there is a chance they will migrate to your fortress...

And yes, five named kills (as opposed to 'other' kills) will earn a hero's title for a dwarf....

He's a member of the civ, simply, and he remains so untill he is kicked out, never mind where he is.

Agreed. Much better than "Blunted Paper" and the other usual crap.

Paper cuts can be quite nasty.  I can understand why they would want to blunt him.   :D  It doesn't make much of an impression as a hero's name, I agree.
